SIA: Sport innovative action
SIA is a European Erasmus+ sport project involving 4 nations: Italy, Norway, Romania and Serbia about the social inclusion of athletes with intellectual and relational disabilities through sport.
Erasmus+ is the EU program for education, training, youth and sport in Europe which aims to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, employment, social equity and integration: an incredible tool for bringing together different realities, from different countries with common objectives
( https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/about_it)
The aim of the project is to compare different ways of doing sports with athletes with intellectual and relational disabilities, favoring the real comparison between athletes, technicians, families and local realities from different European countries sharing good practices and identifying effective operating models.
The project is implemented by 4 international partners: for Italy A.S.d. Blukippe of Padua (Coordinator), for Norway the "Stabekk Gymnastics Club", for Serbia the Serbian Judo Federation and for Romania the "Asociatia Scoala de Antrenori". The 4 different sports realities, from 4 different European countries, will be support by ISRE, the Salesian International Institute of Educational Research in Mestre which, with the IUSVE University (Italy), that will guarantee scientific supervision. The collaboration with the University of Padua is also important.
Six representatives of each nation will have the opportunity to participate in 4 international meetings to share, compare and innovate methodologies, practices and tools, with the ultimate aim of creating, through sport, social inclusion for athletes with intellectual and relational disabilities.
During each meeting, the activity in the gym, which will involve athletes and technicians from different countries, will be followed by round tables of discussion between family members, technicians and local realities.
